For more than a century, since 1907 (from founder John), the Zamperini family lived in the countryside surrounding the Castle of Ripa d'Orcia. During all these years the family members have dedicated themselves to the farm with love and passion, retaining the old farming traditions in the breeding and cultivation and care of the vineyards, olive trees and woods surrounding the farm.

DSince 1988 Poggio Grande is also a Winery. Luca, the owner, has taken all possible care in the choice of every detail: the best land where planting new vineyards and the most modern equipment in order to reach a production of quality wines. Success started with the red wine "Piano" I.G.T. which have followed the white "Tagete" and the "Sesterzo" ORCIA D.O.C.

The farm has been improved with a herd of horses and pigs of "Cinta Senese" and the construction of a winery and a “tasting room” where guests are invited to taste the typical products of the farm. In addition to wine and farm products, there is also another important production: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, produced by the cultivation of about a thousand olive trees of various qualities such Correggiolo, Leccino, Oriolo, Moraiolo, Impollinatore.
